The BRVM begins the new week on a hesitant note, with a clear dominance of declining stocks: 27 securities are retreating, against only 13 advancing. This balance of variations testifies to a pullback movement widely distributed across the exchange.
The BRVM-Composite yields 0,58% to 529,51 points, while the BRVM-30 loses 0,53% to 256,17 points and the BRVM-Prestige retreats by 0,37% to 196,22 points. This orientation is also marked by the decline of Sonatel, which, down by 1,64% to 42 800 FCFA, records a loss of 70 billion FCFA in market capitalization.
Given the weight of the group on the exchange, this contraction accentuates the pressure on the overall market valuation and constitutes one of the notable events of the session. On the side of individual performances, Total CI signs the largest decline, with a pullback of 7,26% to 2 875 FCFA.
Sucrivoire follows with a contraction of 5,29% to 2 150 FCFA, while CIE gives up 4,31% to 5 550 FCFA. These pullbacks illustrate the magnitude of the corrections observed on several securities.
Counter-trend, Bernabé CI progresses by 2,49% to 1 850 FCFA, ahead of BOA Burkina Faso, up by 2,22% to 9 200 FCFA, and Ecobank Côte d'Ivoire, which gains 1,89% to 16 200 FCFA. These advances remain modest compared to the broad predominance of declining stocks.
Transactions stand at 1,94 billion FCFA, of which 894 million FCFA on Sonatel, representing 46,12% of the total value exchanged. Nearly half of the traded capital is thus concentrated on the security, which accumulates high activity and a significant loss of capitalization.
The session closes on a weakened market, where the decline of large capitalizations combines with the generalized weakness of prices. Aurélia Ahua.
