On Saturday 3 October 2026, the BGFIBank Foundation, represented by its Executive Secretary, Mrs. Manying GARANDEAU, officially handed over a set of school and hydraulic infrastructure to the educational community of Grand Déboua, in the Lakota department.
This investment of over 40 million FCFA, carried out through BGFIBank Côte d'Ivoire, benefits more than 600 students.
Located in the Lôh-Djiboua region, in the country's center-west, the Tagolilié 1 and 2 School Group now features a completely redesigned learning environment. The project includes: the construction of a building with three classrooms; the rehabilitation of three school buildings; the construction of a sanitary block with six latrine cubicles; the installation of an electric borehole equipped with a water tower, benefiting the school and the entire village; and the donation of 300 desks.
Before Mr. BINATE Lacina, Prefect of the Lakota Department, the representative of the Mayor of the Commune, the chieftaincy, and the populations of Grand Déboua gathered for the occasion, Mrs.
Manying GARANDEAU recalled that the BGFIBank Foundation has placed education at the heart of its commitments since its creation in 2012. She emphasized the scope of the borehole, which provides potable water to the entire community.
"This project extends beyond the walls of the school: it belongs to the entire village," she stated, before calling on everyone to preserve this infrastructure so that it serves many generations.
On behalf of the students, teachers, and parents, the Director of the School Group praised an action that touches upon education, health, hygiene, and the dignity of the students. "Today, we are not simply receiving buildings.
We are receiving true hope," he affirmed. Coming from Abidjan alongside Mr.
Loïc PECHERA, representing Mr. Kafèhè SILUE, Managing Director of BGFIBank Côte d'Ivoire, members of the Executive Committee and employees of the Bank took part in this day.
It was marked by a tour of the facilities and cultural performances by the students.
This achievement is in line with the BGFIBank Foundation's ongoing commitment to education in Côte d'Ivoire. In 2025, it had already handed over six classrooms to the EPP Youwasso in Grand-Béréby and six classrooms to the EPP Dioulakro 9 in Yamoussoukro.
In Grand Déboua as elsewhere, the Foundation and BGFIBank Côte d'Ivoire share the same conviction: "The Best is Future".
