After several consecutive sessions of decline, Sonatel marks a turnaround and restores momentum to the BRVM for this final session of the week. The stock soars 4,40% to 43 850 FCFA, accompanying the clear recovery of the three main indices.
The BRVM-Composite gains 1,37% to 529,14 points, the BRVM-30 rises 1,38% to 256,35 points, and the BRVM-Prestige advances 1,60% to 196,59 points. The rally in Sonatel is also reflected in the evolution of its market capitalization, which rose by 185 billion FCFA.
This remarkable progression places the telecom operator among the highlights of the session and provides further significance to its strong comeback. Regarding the best performances, Unilever Côte d'Ivoire takes the top spot in the rankings with a jump of 7,47% to 48 360 FCFA.
SODECI follows with an increase of 6,03% to 12 300 FCFA, while SAPH gains 4,99% to 8 000 FCFA. These gains reinforce the day's positive trend and show that the recovery is not limited to Sonatel.
Conversely, several equities remain under pressure. Nestlé Côte d'Ivoire records the sharpest decline of the session, with a drop of 4,34% to 13 900 FCFA, in a context marked by the release of lackluster quarterly results.
Palmci gives up 4,00% to 7 200 FCFA, while Total Sénégal rounds out the list of major decliners, down 3,79% to 3 550 FCFA. These pullbacks serve as a reminder that the rebound in indices is not accompanied by a uniform recovery of the entire list.
On the trading front, Sonatel alone accounts for 1,55 billion FCFA, representing 55,84% of the 2,78 billion FCFA traded across the entire market. More than half of the transaction value was thus concentrated on this stock, which establishes itself as the primary focus of this final weekly session.
