After several sessions of decline, the BRVM is recovering. Leading this turnaround, Orange Côte d'Ivoire shows a rebound strong enough to bring the three main indices into positive territory.
However, this glimmer of hope does not yet disperse the clouds hanging over the market. With 28 decliners against 14 advancers, the market remains largely dominated by losses, in a configuration almost identical to the previous day, which recorded 29 declines.
The change of direction is therefore primarily that of Orange CI, whose strong comeback contrasts with the persistent weakness of the majority of stocks. The BRVM-Composite advances by 0,19% to 537,67 points, the BRVM-30 gains 0,22% to 260,32 points, and the BRVM-Prestige stands out with an increase of 0,67% to 200,13 points.
The star of the session leaves little room for doubt: Orange CI is gaining height. Up 4,85% to 21 500 FCFA, the stock regains 149,9 billion FCFA in market capitalization, making a major contribution to the recovery of the indices.
After several difficult days, this rebound injects new momentum into the market and allows it to return to a positive close. However, the momentum remains concentrated on a limited number of securities.
The SODECI follows with an increase of 3,88% to 12 985 FCFA, while SAPH gains 3,24% to 7 800 FCFA. As Orange CI recovers, a large part of the market continues to lose ground.
CFAO Motors CI records the largest decline of the session, with a drop of 4,93% to 1 350 FCFA. BOA Mali sheds 4,92% to 5 700 FCFA, while Onatel Burkina Faso loses 4,76% to 2 900 FCFA.
These declines serve as a reminder that the rebound in the indices is not enough to erase the tensions affecting the market. On the trading front, activity reached 2,8 billion FCFA, of which 1,66 billion FCFA was mobilized on Sonatel, representing 58,37% of the total value traded.
More than half of the transactions are thus concentrated on a single security, confirming the weight of Sonatel in the session's flows. Aurélia Ahua Published on 15/10/26 16:05 The Editorial Staff
