The pullback intensifies at the BRVM with a clear predominance of declining stocks: 29 securities finished in the red against only 13 gainers. This unfavorable change in balance accompanies the decline of the main indices.
The BRVM-Composite sheds 1,33% to 536,65 points, while the BRVM-30 retreats 1,31% to 259,75 points. The BRVM-Prestige records the sharpest decline, at 1,75%, to settle at 198,79 points.
In this context, Orange CI retreats 6,37% to 20 505 FCFA, erasing 210,2 billion FCFA in market capitalization due to arbitrage and increasing pressure on the market. The downward trend is also reflected in the underperformance of several securities.
Unilever CI posts the session's sharpest decline, with a drop of 7,48% to 44 410 FCFA. Bernabé CI for its part sheds 4,51% to 1 800 FCFA.
These corrections illustrate the extent of the selling pressure, which affects several listed stocks. Moving against the trend, the LNB achieves the session's best performance, with an increase of 3,85% to 4 050 FCFA.
BOA Niger gains 3,23% to 4 795 FCFA, while Total Sénégal advances 3,19% to 3 715 FCFA. These gains provide some points of resistance, without however reversing the general trend, which is largely dominated by the pullbacks.
Transactions reach 2,44 billion FCFA, of which 996,67 million FCFA on Sonatel, representing 40,87% of the total value traded. This concentration reflects the weight of the security in the session's trading activity, as the market closes on a generalized decline of its main indices.
