The BRVM ended the session with a bearish trend, with a decline in its three main indices. The BRVM Composite shed 0,94 % to 532,61 points, while the BRVM-30 lost 1,07 % to 257,54 points.

The BRVM Prestige posted the largest decline, at 1,59 %, to settle at 196,95 points. This trend was reflected in price movements, with 23 stocks declining against 15 advancing.

The equity market capitalization thus stood at 20 886,21 billion FCFA. Among the stocks weighing on the market, Orange CI recorded the largest negative contribution to capitalization, with a decrease of 135,58 billion FCFA.

Its share price fell by 4,19 % to 20 600 FCFA, also ranking among the three largest decliners of the session. Africa Global Logistics CI posted the largest decline, of 6,36 % to 2 870 FCFA, followed by Nestlé CI, down 5,16 % to 14 700 FCFA.

CFAO Motors CI led the gainers with an increase of 7,41 % to 1 450 FCFA. SETAO CI followed with an increase of 6,56 % to 2 030 FCFA, while BICI CI rose by 4,21 % to 32 400 FCFA.

These gains were, however, insufficient to reverse the general trend, as declining stocks remained more numerous than advancing ones. The total value of trades stood at 1,94 billion FCFA, compared to 2,8 billion FCFA the previous day, representing a contraction of 30,7 %.

Sonatel SN concentrated 810,29 million FCFA in transactions, accounting for 41,74 % of trades, despite a 0,91 % decline in its share price to 43 500 FCFA. After a peak of 1,66 billion FCFA on Thursday, trades on the security fell to 810,29 million FCFA on Friday, a decrease of 51,1 %.

Sonatel thus remains the most traded security of the session, in a market marked by a clear slowdown in activity. Code JEAN-YAYAKA Published on 16/10/26 16:14 The Editorial Staff
