After seven years serving as General Manager of Coris Bank International Togo, Burkinabe banker Alassane Kaboré has been appointed to lead the Ivorian subsidiary of the Coris Bank International group. This appointment marks a new phase for the Ivorian banking institution, whose financial performance makes it one of the core entities of the group founded by businessman Idrissa Nassa.

A graduate of the École nationale d'administration et de magistrature (ENAM) of Faso, as well as the Institut des techniques bancaires, he specializes in financial engineering and risk management. He also served at Coris Bank International Burkina, and subsequently at the Mali subsidiary, before assuming the role of General Manager of the Togolese subsidiary.

This progression within the group has enabled him to develop a deep understanding of its operations and strategic orientation. By placing him at the head of its Ivorian subsidiary, the Coris group is leveraging experience gained across various sub-regional banking environments and ensuring managerial continuity across its diverse entities.

This leadership change occurs within an Ivorian banking landscape characterized by intense competition, where resource mobilization, corporate financing, and risk management constitute major challenges. For the new leader, the objective will be to consolidate the achievements of the Ivorian subsidiary while pursuing its growth within a market that remains strategic to the group's operations.

The figures for the 2025 financial year illustrate the significance of Coris Bank International Côte d'Ivoire within the group's structure. The bank reported a balance sheet total of 1 324,01 billion FCFA and a net profit of 24,5 billion FCFA.

These results rank it as the second-largest subsidiary of the group in terms of financial weight, behind Coris Bank International Burkina Faso. This position grants the Ivorian subsidiary a significant role in the group's regional development strategy.

The ability to bolster customer deposits, expand corporate financing, and preserve profitability will be critical to maintaining this standing. In this context, Alassane Kaboré will particularly focus on the bank's commercial expansion, while ensuring a balance between business growth and risk management.

Financing small and medium-sized enterprises, which occupy a significant place in the Ivorian economic fabric, also represents a challenge for deepening support for the economy. His tenure at the head of that subsidiary was marked by an improvement in several financial indicators, according to data from the Banking Commission of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA).

As of the end of 2025, the Togolese bank reported a balance sheet total of 615,5 billion FCFA, positioning it third in the country's banking market. Its net profit stood at 7,06 billion FCFA, an increase of 23,1% compared to 2024.

This performance ranked the subsidiary fourth among the group's entities in terms of net profit. This management experience is an asset that the executive will be able to leverage in his new role in Côte d'Ivoire, even if the specific characteristics of both markets and the challenges unique to each subsidiary require tailored responses.

Alassane Kaboré's primary challenge will now be to consolidate the performance of Coris Bank International Côte d'Ivoire in a market where banking institutions compete to attract deposits, finance companies, and develop their services. Balance sheet growth will not be the only indicator to monitor.

The bank's ability to maintain profitability, control the cost of risk, and develop financing tailored to the needs of the Ivorian economy will also be decisive. Published on 19/10/26 11:50 Narcisse Angan
