Appointed to lead NSIA Banque Bénin effective 1 October 2026, Edmond Koukou Adjikpè possesses over twenty-two years of experience in commercial banking and development finance. His background, developed between Ecobank Bénin and Shelter Afrique Development Bank, combines corporate finance, public-private partnerships, and sovereign operations.
NSIA Banque Bénin has entrusted its general management to an experienced banker, well-versed in both corporate financing and the structuring of public projects. Having assumed his duties on 1 October 2026, Edmond Koukou Adjikpè has a total of more than twenty-two years of experience in the banking and financial sectors as well as in development finance.
His profile is distinguished by dual exposure. The first pertains to commercial banking, with direct knowledge of the needs of companies and public stakeholders in Benin.
The second relates to development finance on a pan-African scale, particularly through the structuring of sovereign loans and public-private partnerships. A pan-African experience at Shelter Afrique.
Before joining NSIA Banque Bénin, Edmond Koukou Adjikpè held several responsibilities within Shelter Afrique Development Bank, a pan-African institution specializing in the financing of housing and urban development. He rose through the ranks there, notably occupying the positions of Regional Representative for West Africa, Central Africa, and North Africa, before most recently serving as Head of Public-Private Partnerships & Sovereign Loans – Africa.
In this capacity, he was involved in operations involving states, public institutions, and private investors. This experience also gave him direct exposure to the challenges of resource mobilization, the structuring of complex financings, and the development of long-term partnerships.
These are all competencies that can be utilized to support the investment projects of NSIA Banque Bénin's corporate and institutional clients. Prior to Shelter Afrique Development Bank, Edmond Koukou Adjikpè had built a significant part of his career within Ecobank Bénin.
He held several management positions there, notably that of Head of the Department in charge of the public sector and local companies, and permanent member of the Credit Committee. Holding a Master's degree in Banking and Finance from CESAG and a degree in Statistical and Demographic Engineering from ENEA in Dakar, Edmond Koukou Adjikpé bases his leadership on strategic vision, operational excellence, and commitment to the continent's economic development.
