The regional market recovered some height this Tuesday 6 October, following a particularly bearish session. The BRVM-Composite recovered by 1,06 % to 544,87 points, erasing a significant portion of its 1,39 % decline recorded on Monday.
The other indices followed the same trajectory, with gains of 1,08 % for the BRVM-30, to 263,93 points, and 1,31 % for the BRVM-Prestige, to 202,93 points. This rebound in the indices, however, contrasts with a listing that remains predominantly oriented towards the downside. 20 stocks finished in the red against 17 in the green, a sign that the market rebound relies more on the movements of a few heavyweights than on a generalized improvement.
The progress of Orange CI notably weighed in this configuration. By gaining 7,49 % to 21 390 FCFA, the security added 224,48 billion FCFA to its market capitalization, representing more than double the loss recorded on Monday.
This increase also allows it to climb back above its Friday price. Tractafric Motors CI accompanied the movement with a gain of 7,40 % to 4 135 FCFA, while Filtisac CI recovered part of the ground lost the previous day, progressing by 6,76 % to 1 975 FCFA.
At the other end of the listing, selling pressure remained visible on several securities. SMB CI, which had nonetheless progressed by 3,31 % on Monday, fell by 5,85 % to 16 000 FCFA.
NSIA Banque CI retreated by 4,98 % to 21 000 FCFA and Setao CI by 4,55 % to 2 100 FCFA. Trading, for its part, lost intensity.
The transaction amount stood at 2,44 billion FCFA, against 3,54 billion FCFA the previous day, representing a decrease of approximately 31 %. Sonatel alone concentrated 1,04 billion FCFA, representing 42,48 % of the total value of trades, a share nevertheless lower than the 53,01 % recorded on Monday.
