The BRVM ended the final session of the week on a mixed note. Gains dominated the market this Friday, 2 October, with 22 stocks advancing against 18 declining and 7 unchanged.
However, this favorable majority was insufficient to keep the indices in positive territory: the BRVM-Composite fell 0,41% to 546,78 points, the BRVM-30 fell 0,53% to 264,57 points, and the BRVM-Prestige fell 0,54% to 202,83 points. This configuration is primarily explained by the pullback of several large-cap stocks.
Orange CI notably gave up 5,48% to 20 605 FCFA, leading to a decline in its market capitalization of 180,03 billion FCFA. The movement weighed on the indices, while CFAO Motors CI and Uniwax CI also finished lower, by 4,61% and 3,81% respectively, to 1 450 FCFA and 2 270 FCFA.
Conversely, a significant portion of the market performed well. Coris Bank International BF climbed to the top of the leaderboard with a gain of 3,96% to 31 500 FCFA, ahead of Servair Abidjan CI, up 3,86% to 3 500 FCFA, and BOA Burkina Faso, which rose 3,00% to 8 240 FCFA.
Servair thus recovers some of the ground lost in the previous session. Trading activity also intensified.
Transaction volume reached 3,51 billion FCFA, up 15,6% compared to the previous session. Sonatel alone accounted for 1,63 billion FCFA, representing 46,47% of the total trading value.
