The BRVM closed the final session of the week on a cautious note this Friday, in a market still dominated by declines. With 24 stocks in decline against 13 gainers, sellers maintained the advantage, driving the three main indices into the red.
The BRVM-Composite fell 0,28% to 546,86 points, while the BRVM-30 shed 0,39% to 264,57 points and the BRVM-Prestige dropped 0,26% to 203,08 points. This trend reflects a broadly shared decline, despite some individual rebounds.
On the downside, Bernabé CI recorded the sharpest decline of the session, falling 5,51% to 1 800 FCFA, after having already lost 7,18% on Monday. Tractafric Motors CI followed with a decline of 4,16% to 4 150 FCFA, while Coris Bank International BF fell 4,14% to 30 005 FCFA.
Given its weight in market capitalization, the latter also suffered the largest loss in market cap for the session, with 41,44 billion FCFA wiped out. Counter to the general trend, BICICI climbed to the top of the gainers, with a rise of 4,75% to 32 945 FCFA.
The stock thus recovered part of its Monday drop, when it had lost 7,38% to close at 31 305 FCFA. Oragroup Togo also posted a notable performance, advancing 3,81% to 3 000 FCFA, ahead of Solibra CI, which gained 2,32% to 37 950 FCFA.
Regarding trading, activity rose slightly. The total value of transactions stood at 2,92 billion FCFA, up 5,10% compared to the 2,78 billion FCFA recorded on Thursday.
Sonatel alone accounted for approximately 1,21 billion FCFA, or 41,32% of the traded amounts, against 34,78% the previous day. This concentration of trading highlights the determining weight of a few large stocks in the daily activity of the market.
