In the month of July 2026 in Senegal, total gross electricity production increased by 20,2% on a monthly basis. This progression results from the rise in purchases from third-party producers (+21,6%) and from the internal production of SENELEC (+14,9%).
According to the report from ANSD published on 29 September 2026, on an annual basis, total gross electricity production recorded an increase of 25,7% compared to July 2025. This development is driven exclusively by the jump in purchases from other producers (+34,7%), with the internal production of SENELEC showing a slight decline (-1,9%).
On the other hand, total production and sales of crude oil posted an increase on a monthly basis. Gross production improved by 1,8% (2 987,3 thousand bbl, compared to 2 935,3 thousand bbl in the previous month).
In the same vein, total sales increased by 1,4% over one month (2 980,5 thousand bbl after 2 939,2 thousand bbl in June 2026). Year-on-year, gross production contracted by 2,3% compared to July 2025.

Conversely, exports of GNL recorded a decline of 1,7% over one month, amounting to 241,9 thousand m³ after 246,0 thousand m3 the previous month. On a year-on-year basis, the sector maintains a strong dynamic of expansion compared to July 2025.
The production of GNL jumped by 38,2% (going from 177,6 to 245,6 thousand m3), while exports increased strongly by 43,8% (going from 168,2 to 241,9 thousand m3). Regarding cement, cement production fell by 0,9% in monthly variation.
This decline is explained by the drop in exports (-18,6%), while local sales increased by 0,1%. Year-on-year, production posted an increase of 11,9% compared to July 2025, driven by the strong performance of local sales (+10,4%).
