The PlaYce shopping center concept, developed by CFAO Retail in partnership with Carrefour, continues its expansion in West and Central Africa. These spaces bring together boutiques, restaurants, and various local and international brands around a Carrefour store.
In Côte d'Ivoire, PlaYce has two centers, in Marcory and Palmeraie, in Abidjan. The network is also present in Senegal and Cameroon.
For the fiscal year ended 31 March 2026, the three African subsidiaries of PlaYce together generated 19,94 million euros (13,08 billion FCFA) in revenue. Côte d'Ivoire alone accounts for nearly 60 % of this, with 11,91 million euros (7,81 billion FCFA).
The Ivorian market is thus the primary business driver for PlaYce among the three countries where the group is established. This position is supported by the two centers operated in Abidjan by PlaYce RCI, whose activity has increased compared to the 9,96 million euros (6,54 billion FCFA) of the previous fiscal year.
However, this growth in revenue did not translate into results, as the profit of 604 471 euros (396,5 million FCFA) recorded a year earlier gave way to a loss of 4,24 million euros (2,78 billion FCFA) as of 31 March 2026. In Senegal, the subsidiary shows a smaller scale of operations.
PlaYce Senegal generated 573 212 euros (376,1 million FCFA) in revenue, compared to 510 402 euros (334,8 million FCFA) a year earlier, but ended the fiscal year with a loss of 355 122 euros (233 million FCFA). In Cameroon, PlaYce has one center in Yaoundé, opened in July 2022.
The Cameroonian subsidiary generated 7,45 million euros (4,89 billion FCFA) in revenue, up 3,8 % year-on-year. Its profit, while positive, declined by 78 %, to 217 214 euros (142,5 million FCFA).
