The Ivorian fast-food chain Dabali Xpress will open a new location in Abidjan on 5 November 2026, near the Yopougon courthouse. With thirty jobs announced and a menu adapted to local habits, the brand is targeting the largest communal market in Côte d'Ivoire.

Dabali Xpress is preparing to enter one of the most coveted markets in the Ivorian restaurant industry. On the 5 of next November, the brand will open a new restaurant in Yopougon, near the courthouse, with the ambition of establishing a foothold in the most populous municipality in the country.

The choice is not insignificant. With approximately 2 million inhabitants, Yopougon concentrates a large, young clientele that is particularly attached to dining out.

Its economic activity extends late into the evening, driven by businesses, transportation, entertainment venues, and a significant population of workers commuting daily to other hubs in Abidjan.

For Dabali Xpress, the municipality represents considerable commercial potential. Yopougon, which houses a large portion of Abidjan's middle class, offers volumes that few other Ivorian urban markets can match, but it also imposes a demanding equation: providing affordable meals, serving quickly, and adapting the offer to the tastes of a very diverse clientele.

A menu designed for the Yopougon market

Created in 2021, Dabali Xpress developed around a positioning that was still little occupied at its inception: applying fast-food methods to Ivorian and African dishes. Unlike international chains built around burgers, fried chicken, or pizza, the brand serves in particular foutou, placali, rice accompanied by local sauces, attiéké, Garba, and various local specialties.

Its model is based on the standardization of preparation, the speed of service, and an environment meeting contemporary expectations regarding hospitality and hygiene.

The establishment in Yopougon will involve an adaptation of the menu. Dabali Xpress plans to offer new recipes to better align with local consumption habits.

This approach illustrates one of the springs of its model: building a common brand while maintaining a margin of adjustment for the particularities of each location zone.

Approximately thirty jobs announced

The future establishment is expected to employ about thirty young people, recruited primarily from the municipality. Dabali Xpress claims to currently have 150 employees.

The founding couple, Akouba Angola and Daniel Aggré, accompanied by the deputy mayor of Yopougon, Adama Bictogo.

This social dimension constitutes one of the arguments presented to the municipality. The founders of the brand, the couple Akouba Angola and Daniel Aggré, met with deputy mayor Adama Bictogo to present the project and request the support of the municipality during the launch phase.

The gamble of an Ivorian fast-food service

Dabali Xpress operates in a sector where international brands are multiplying their locations and possess proven operational models, significant marketing budgets, and highly structured supply chains. Facing them, the Ivorian company is betting on a cultural advantage: offering dishes already familiar to consumers, but served in a fast, standardized, and easily identifiable format.

This combination earned it the National Excellence Award for the best restaurant establishment in 2023.

By choosing the largest municipality in Côte d'Ivoire, the local brand is not just looking for an additional location. It is confronting the market capable of giving a new scale to its Ivorian fast-food model.
